CardDebtCalc ("we", "us") operates carddebtcalc.com. This page explains what data we handle and the choices you have. The short version: your card balances, interest rates and monthly payment are processed on your own device and never leave your browser.

Which tool this covers

CardDebtCalc is a credit card payoff calculator that compares the debt snowball and avalanche repayment methods and shows the monthly payment, total interest and payoff date for each. It simulates month by month, accruing interest at the annual rate divided by twelve and applying your payment to the priority balance — smallest first for snowball, highest-rate first for avalanche — until every balance clears. Everything below concerns that specific calculation and the values it involves, and nothing beyond it.

Everything the tool works with — your card balances, interest rates and monthly payment — is handled locally. It is usually reached for things like picking a monthly payment that clears the debt by a target date, and because nothing is transmitted a visitor can close the tab knowing no copy was made anywhere.

What you enter

Every result here is produced by JavaScript running in your browser. Your inputs are used only to render the answer on the page: they are not transmitted to a server, stored, sold, or shared. The calculation needs nothing beyond what is already on the page — it simply simulates month by month.

Amounts, rates and balances

The amounts and rates you type are used once, for the calculation, and afterwards exist only in the page you are looking at. Nothing is retained, because nothing was ever sent.

Security and data retention

Retention is close to a non-question here, because almost nothing personal is retained. What you enter lives in the tab; the site itself is served over TLS and maintained as needed.

Children's privacy

Nothing here targets users under 13. If a child has sent personal details through the site, tell us and we will delete them.

The rights you have

Wherever you are, you can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or erased, and object to how it is used. Given how little CardDebtCalc collects, the answer will usually be short, but the right stands.

How this policy changes

The policy is kept current with the site. When something material changes, the date at the top is updated so the revision is visible.

Information collected as you browse

Standard server logs are generated when your browser requests a page. They cover technical details like your IP address, browser, referring URL and timestamps, and are used only to keep the site running and secure. None of it is linked to the input you give the tool.

Cookies, ads and advertising partners

We use one first-party cookie for the consent choice and nothing more. Any other cookies come from advertising partners outside our control; they can be blocked or deleted in your browser, and doing so costs the tool nothing, because the calculation is independent of them.

Analytics and aggregate statistics

Any measurement we do is statistical rather than personal: how many people opened a page, roughly where from, and which tools get used. It is aggregated before it is read, and the values you type are never part of it.
